Dr. Maureen Mayhew
Dr. Maureen Mayhew has practiced cross-cultural medicine and public health for 25 years serving immigrants, refugees, Inuit, Métis and First Nations. She is a Clinical Associate Professor at the School of Population and Public Health, an Associate in the Department of Family Medicine and an Associate at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Dr. Mayhew conducts mixed-methods operations research and evaluation research in communities and has a particular interest in developing and evaluating strength-based portrayal of health information. Her first collaboration with Hello Cool World was to lead the "TB Germ: A Cunning World Traveller" animated video, which is meant for immigrant communities with voice overs in six languages.
She is taking a research methodology lead in our upcoming project, Drawing Wisdom From The Well, which will look at culturally relevant ways for Aboriginal communities to define and measure wellness in their own terms.
